Coach & Play in Subotica, Serbia
This season Hockey Without Borders has teamed up with Hockey Club Spartak, Subotica, Serbia. Hockey Without Borders teammates will play for Spartak's team and help develop its youth hockey program.
The Balkans is the gateway between eastern and western cultures. Citizens of Subotica, Serbia (pop 120 000) are mainly Hungarian, Serbian and Croat. Many languages can be heard in the central café lined pedestrian zone. Subotica is located within a short driving distance to Vienna, Budapest and Belgrade.
Hockey Without Borders strengthens the host communities ability to build age specific programing while building social capital within a positive and fun atmosphere.Participants will promote these ideals by coaching the next generation of players aged 5 - 12.
Hockey is a powerful and positive influence in our communities. We want to foster community engagement among groups of young people near and far. Participants will connect with new teammates when playing for the host club's team.
