Jonathan Gautier
Executive Director & Co-Founder
After five years in the QMJHL, a Habs development camp and four seasons of Usport at Concordia University, my hockey playing career took me to Strasbourg, France and Novi Sad, Serbia. It was there in eastern Europe that I had to evaluate what hockey actually meant to these communities... Moreover, all these years later, what it actually meant for me!”
Hockey is in Jonathan’s blood since he first put skates on as 5 years old kid. He went through the ranks of the Laval/Hockey Québec program and played Midget AAA before going first overall in the QJMHL at 16 years old for the Baie-Comeau Drakkar; the first ever pick of the franchise. He played four years for them and one final year in Val-D’or.
After a professional development camp for the Montreal Canadiens, he chose to focus on his schooling completing a Human Relation degree at Concordia University in Montreal while playing for the varsity team. He then had the life changing experience to play in Novi Sad, Serbia and Strasbourg, France in the Magnus League.
He transitioned into the business world as a wine rep for the biggest producer, importer, and distributor of wine in Canada where he learned a lot about business-to-business relationships. Now Executive Director of Hockey Sans Frontières/Hockey Without Borders, Jonathan concentrates most of his time and efforts on gathering the best people and partners to advance the organisation’s mission.
